Real Madrid could look to sign Manchester United-linked star if 27-year-old player leaves Los Blancos this summer - Reports
Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring Juventus midfielder Adrian Rabiot’s situation and are considering signing him as a free agent this summer. However, according to AS, Los Blancos will consider him a serious option if Dani Ceballos leaves the Santiago Bernabeu this transfer window.
Ceballos has been struggling for regular game time, clocking less than 600 minutes across 20 La Liga appearances last season. He made 27 appearances across competitions in 2023-24, contributing a goal and two assists.
However, having been limited to a bench player, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the Spaniard’s future. Clubs like Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are rumored to be interested in signing Ceballos, although the Rojiblancos have quashed those links. The 27-year-old’s contract runs through June 30, 2027, with Madrid likely to agree to let him leave for as little as €10 million.
Meanwhile, Rabiot’s contract with Juventus is set to expire at the end of the month, presenting an excellent opportunity to sign a quality midfielder on a free transfer. The Frenchman has been a consistent performer for the Old Lady since joining from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the summer of 2019.
Rabiot made 35 appearances across competitions for Juventus last season, contributing five goals and three assists. He also impressed in France’s 1-0 win over Austria in their opening game in the ongoing Euro 2024.
Madrid will have competition for Rabiot’s signature, however, as Manchester United are also looking to acquire the Frenchman. According to Manchester Evening News, Rabiot is waiting for the Red Devils to make a move for him this summer. The Old Trafford club have been big admirers of the 29-year-old since Erik ten Hag's appointment in the summer of 2022.
Real Madrid favorites to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro
Real Madrid are leading the race to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro, according to Fabrizio Romano. Liverpool and Manchester United are also in pursuit of the 18-year-old centre-back, although Los Blancos are the favorites to land their target.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking to sign a long-term partner for Eder Militao and have identified Yoro as the perfect target. Yoro will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has not signed an extension yet.
Romano said on Playback:
“The contact between Liverpool and the agents of Leny Yoro already took place, because Liverpool wanted to confirm their interest. Now it depends on Real Madrid. Real Madrid are the big favorites, and the favorite destination of the player. So, if Madrid want to proceed for Yoro, they remain the big favorites.”
He has made 60 senior appearances for Lille and also contributed three goals and one assist.
