Real Madrid make transfer stance on attacker amid surprise Arsenal interest: Reports
Real Madrid have reportedly made clear that they're not willing to sell the Turkish midfielder Arda Guler despite Arsenal's interest in the 19-year-old. As per Spanish outlet Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Turkish midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
The Gunners had previously signed Martin Odegaard, who plays at a similar position as Guler, from Los Blancos in August 2021. Since joining the north London club, the Norwegian midfielder has made 158 appearances across competitions, bagging 35 goals and 26 assists. Odegaard has also become the captain of the side under Mikel Arteta.
However, as per the aforementioned report, the LaLiga giants are not ready to let Guler leave Santiago Bernabeu. He arrived in the Spanish capital from Turkish side Fenerbahce in July 2023 and has made 24 appearances for the LaLiga outfit, scoring six goals.
This season, Guler has made 12 appearances across competitions, playing only 307 minutes. The 19-year-old has started only three matches for Los Blancos in the ongoing campaign. The young playmaker had garnered the attention of several top European clubs.
Due to the lack of minutes, multiple reports stated that Arda Guler could leave the LaLiga giants in January, and Arsenal are the frontrunners to sign the 19-year-old.
Real Madrid to offer Dani Ceballos in exchange for LaLiga midfielder: Reports
Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid are reportedly looking to sign Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, as per Fichajes.net. Los Blancos will also include Dani Ceballos in exchange for making the offer more affordable.
Martin Zubimendi has a release clause of €60 million in his contract but Real Madrid are keen to reduce the price by offering Dani Ceballos. Ceballos signed a four-year contract extension with Los Blancos last summer and his ongoing deal will expire in 2027.
Zubimendi was linked to a move to Liverpool last summer but he eventually decided to stay at Sociedad. The Spanish midfielder is a product of the Real Sociedad academy and has made 204 appearances for the senior team, bagging nine goals and nine assists.
Martin Zubimendi has also played 15 matches for La Roja and made four appearances for Spain during the 2024 European Championships.
