Real Madrid and Manchester United monitoring 20-year-old Sweden international with €50 million price-tag: Reports
Manchester United and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Hugo Larsson, according to journalist Patrick Berger. The Swedish midfielder has caught the eye with Eintracht Frankfurt and is wanted at multiple clubs in Europe.
Larsson rose through the ranks at Malmo before making the switch to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig apparently discussed the player internally but refrained from a move that summer.
Since arriving at Waldstadion, the 20-year-old has taken his game to a higher level. Larsson has already registered four goals and one assist from 19 games across competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt this season.
His efforts have forced Real Madrid to take note. The LaLiga giants have had their eyes on the Swede since his time at Malmo, although a move hasn't materialized yet.
Los Blancos have a habit of picking up the best young talents of the land. Larsson already looks like the next big thing in Europe and could be a hit at Real Madrid.
However, Manchester United also have their eyes on the youngster. The Red Devils are working to usher in a new era under Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese head coach took charge at Old Trafford earlier this month as Erik ten Hag's replacement. Manchester United want to hand Amorim a squad of his choice and have identified Larsson as an option.
The Swede is under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2029 and is happy at the club. The Bundesliga giants are not actively planning for his departure, but are willing to let him go for €50m.
Are Real Madrid eyeing a Manchester United defender?
Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid are considering a move for Manchester United's Diogo Dalot. The LaLiga giants are in the market for a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, who is currently out with an ACL injury.
The Spaniard, however, is already on the wrong side of 30 and Los Blancos would ideally like Trent Alexander-Arnold to take his place. The Englishman has entered the final year of his contract with Liverpool and Real Madrid are eyeing a Bosman move next summer.
However, the Reds remain desperate to tie the 26-year-old down to a new deal. The situation has forced Los Blancos to turn to Dalot. It has been mentioned that Manchester United could let the Portuguese leave next summer to fund a move for Viktor Gyokeres.
