Real Madrid name new primary free-kick taker as Luka Modric, Fede Valverde and Jude Bellingham miss out: Reports

Real Madrid have reportedly named Kylian Mbappé as their new primary free-kick taker as Luka Modric, Fede Valverde, and Jude Bellingham miss out. After signing for the Spanish giants at the beginning of June 2024, the Frenchman was presented at Santiago Bernabéu on July 16.

Despite the Croatian club veteran, the Uruguayan midfielder, and the English superstar having proven their mettle over the dead ball in the past, Kylian Mbappé was chosen as Real Madrid's main free-kick taker for this season, as per MARCA.

Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti recently opened up about the potential date for the France national team captain to make his debut for the La Liga giants. The Italian manager said (via 90Min):

"Mbappe can obviously be in the Super Cup starting XI. [Jude] Bellingham too and the others [on holiday] too. They are prepared, they have followed a plan and they will all play."

Real Madrid face Atalanta BC in the UEFA Super Cup, which is an annual cup football match contested by the winners of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, on August 14, at National Stadium Warsaw.

Prior to the Super Cup clash, Los Blancos have their last pre-season friendly against Chelsea on Tuesday, August 6, at Bank of America Stadium.
