Real Madrid plotting audacious move for another Liverpool star after Trent Alexander-Arnold links: Reports

Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid are reportedly planning to sign Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk after Eder Militao's ACL injury, as per Fichajes. Los Blancos were already missing David Alaba due to a knee issue, and in a recent statement, the club confirmed that Militao had ruptured his ACL. Militao suffered the setback during Madrid's 4-0 win over Osasuna on Saturday, November 9.

The Brazilian defender missed the majority of the last season after he tore the ACL of his left leg in the season opener. Unfortunately, he has now suffered another major injury. Due to the setback, Real Madrid have now been forced to recruit new central defenders in the next transfer window.

According to the aforementioned report, Carlo Ancelotti's side are now interested in Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch defender's current contract will expire in the summer of 2025, and Los Blancos will aim to lure him with a decent offer in January.

Apart from the Dutch defender, the Santiago Bernabeu outfit also have former captain Sergio Ramos on their radar as a short-term fix. The Spaniard last played for Sevilla during the 2023-24 season. Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah is another defender on the LaLiga giants' list.

Madrid have also been linked with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold as a replacement for Dani Carvajal, who also sustained a knee injury earlier this year.

Real Madrid interested in 22-year-old Manchester United target: Reports

Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite in the upcoming winter transfer window, as per CaughtOffside. The 22-year-old has been on the transfer radar of Manchester United for a long time.

Due to knee injuries, Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao have been ruled out for the entire season. As a result, the La Liga giants are keen to bring in new defenders in the January transfer window. Los Blancos have the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, Jonathan Tah, Aymeric Laporte, and others on their transfer radar.

However, completing a move in January would be a difficult task for Real Madrid. Amid the hassle, they have also been linked with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The Englishman joined Everton from Carlisle United in January 2020.

Since then, he has made 58 appearances for the Toffees across all competitions, bagging four goals and an assist.
