Real Madrid ready to sell 27-year-old defender in January following poor performance this season - Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to sanction an exit for Jesus Vallejo in January following his poor showing this season. As claimed by fichajes.net via Madrid Universal, club president Florentino Perez has decided to part ways with the 27-year-old.

The Spaniard has made just one appearance this season which was off the bench against Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday, September 24. The center-back replaced Eder Militao in the 80th minute with Los Blancos leading 3-0, but they conceded two goals and had to see out a nervy last few minutes.

It has been claimed that Florentino Perez has decided to offload Vallejo following his poor display against Alaves. He has reportedly communicated his decision to manager Carlo Ancelotti who won't use the Spaniard anymore unless an emergency arises.

Vallejo's current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in June 2025 but Los Blancos are willing to part ways as early as January. They are also reportedly ready to allow the former Spain under-23 player to depart without any compensation.

The report, however, claims that Real Madrid might struggle to find buyers for the center-back given his limited playing time in recent seasons. He has played just 10 minutes of football this season and only 106 minutes last season for Granada on loan.

In the 2022-23 season, he only played 88 minutes of football for Carlo Ancelotti's side. Expectations were massive from Vallejo when the defender joined Los Blancos in 2015 but he has not been able to live up to them.

Jude Bellingham hails Real Madrid legend as the 'greatest ever'

Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has lavished praise on club legend Zinedine Zidane ahead of the EA FC 25 launch. The England international was together with Zidane at the launch of the much-anticipated video game and posted an image of the duo on Instagram.

The caption read, as quoted by Madrid Xtra:

"The greatest ever."

Zidane is widely regarded as one of the greatest players football has ever seen. The French football icon enjoyed great success at Real Madrid both as a player and as a manager.

The 1998 Ballon d'Or winner won six trophies as a Real Madrid player and 11 as the club's manager. He achieved the unprecedented feat of winning three back-to-back Champions Leagues as Los Blancos manager.

Bellingham, meanwhile, enjoyed a sensational debut season at the Spanish capital club following his reported €102 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2023. He scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 games helping Carlo Ancelotti's side win both La Liga and the Champions League.
