Real Madrid receive double injury boost ahead of UCL clash against Bayern Munich - Reports

Real Madrid are all set to welcome two players back into the squad ahead of their clash against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. The first leg of the semi-final will be played on Tuesday, April 30, at the Allianz Arena.

As per Radio MARCA, Brazilian striker Rodrygo and French defender Ferland Mendy have both recovered and are fit to face Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Rodrygo was reportedly suffering from a flu and did not attend training earlier this week. He was not a part of Carlos Ancelotti's squad for Real Madrid's clash against Real Sociedad on Friday night (April 26) but was a starter in the El Clasico on April 21.

Ferland Mendy was unavailable for both the Clasico and the fixture against Real Sociedad, owing to his fitness woes following the second leg of their UCL quarter-final tie against Manchester City.

Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba set to travel with the Real Madrid squad for the UCL semis

The aforementioned report also suggests that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender David Alaba will join the Real Madrid squad to travel to Germany for the UCL semi-final first leg.

Alaba has been out since December due to his ACL injury. The Austrian is still recovering from his injury and will not be part of the squad. However, he will be present to support the side as they face his former team, Bayern Munich.

Thibaut Courtois has been out since the beginning of the season in August after suffering an ACL tear in his left knee. He began training this week after recovering from surgery. However, the Belgian is yet not fit to be a part of the squad.

Real Madrid is set to face Bayern Munich for the first time in the UEFA Champions League after the 2017-18 season. The German club clashed against Los Blancos in the Champions League semi-finals, where the latter won on a 4-3 aggregate.

Having won all domestic competitions, Bayern's only hope of avoiding a trophyless season is to secure the Champions League. Los Blancos, however, are major title contenders in the La Liga this season. They are currently at the top of the league table with 84 points.
