Real Madrid slap staggering asking price on 24-year-old star amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabia: Reports

Real Madrid will only allow Vinicius Junior to leave for his €1bn release clause, according to Defensa Central. The Brazilian icon is reportedly wanted by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as well as clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Vinicius was in tremendous fine form for Los Blancos last season, registering 24 goals and 11 assists from 39 games across competitions. He won the league, the Champions League, and the Supercopa de Espana last season.

The 24-year-old narrowly missed out on the Ballon d'Or this year, with Manchester City's Rodri coming out on top. Vinicius has continued his good form for Real Madrid this season, registering 12 goals and seven assists from 17 games.

The Brazilian's future was subject to speculation over the summer as well. Saudi clubs were eager to secure his services and reportedly offered him a massive contract to move to the Middle East.

Los Blancos were also offered a fat fee for their prized asset, but Spanish giants turned them down. Kylian Mbappe's arrival also raised doubts about Vinicius' role at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the Brazilian opted to stay.

That decision has already been vindicated, with the player showing no signs of slowing down. PSG have retained their interest in Vinicius and would like to see him at the Parc des Princes.

The Parisians are yet to sign a replacement for Kylian Mbappe and the Brazilian could be ideal for the role. However, Real Madrid are adamant that Vinicius Junior won't be sold. With the player's contract running until 2027, they are under no pressure to let him go either.

Vinicius Junior joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, when he turned 18. He was initially handed the No. 28 shirt, before moving to the No. 20 in the following campaign.

The Brazilian had a slow start to his time with the LaLiga giants, but picked up pace in the 2021-22 season. Vinicius has since scored 95 goals and set up 82 more from 281 games across competitions. The player has already won 13 titles with Los Blancos, which includes three LaLiga titles and two Champions League trophies.

He was handed the No. 7 shirt in the summer of 2023, following Eden Hazard's departure. Vinicius has lived up to the expectations of the fabled shirt so far, but still has a long way to go to match Cristiano Ronaldo's achievements with Real Madrid.
