Real Madrid softening stance on letting Arda Guler leave in January amid interest from Premier League club: Reports
Real Madrid are reportedly softening their stance on the future of Turkish youngster Arda Guler, and could allow him to leave on loan in the January window. The midfielder has been linked with multiple clubs recently as he continues to struggle for minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The lack of game time has led to talks of a potential exit for the former Fenerbahce youngster, but Real Madrid have denied such claims. However, according to TBR Football, the club are now prepared to consider enquiries for the midfielder, who hasn't been able to secure a regular starting berth.
Guler signed with the Spanish giants in the summer of 2023 but could not make his debut until January 2024 due to a knee injury. Since then, the 19-year-old has been in and out of the team despite showing evidence of his obvious talent whenever he's played.
He got only three minutes of game time as Los Blancos defeated Atalanta 3-2 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, December 10. The teenager has played a total of 578 minutes, the equivalent of about six full matches, in 18 appearances this season.
The report states that Arsenal are in the market for a right-sided attacking midfielder and will try to move for Guler in January. They intend for the youngster to play as an understudy to Martin Odegaard, and may even look to sign him permanently later.
Real Madrid may look at Brahim Diaz as an example of how a loan move could benefit them, seeing as the Moroccan spent three years on loan at AC Milan.
Real Madrid pull out of talks for top target - Reports
Real Madrid have decided to stop discussion with Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies and shift their focus elsewhere, as per Cadena SER (via SPORT). The Canadian left-back was their priority target for the summer transfer window, with the Spanish giants looking to sign him for free.
According to reports, Davies has not responded to the latest approach from the Spanish outfit and appears focussed on negotiations with Bayern over a new contract instead. Los Blancos are thus ready to start from scratch in their hunt for a new left-back.
Real Madrid are not the only side interested in Davies, whose contract situation is also being monitored by Barcelona and some other European sides.
