Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe to get staggering €55m payout from Paris Saint-Germain: Reports
Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to secure a legal win over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The Frenchman is owed €55 million by the Ligue1 side for unpaid wages from last season.
As per a report in L'Equipe, LFP (Ligue de Football Professionnel) are set to rule in favor of Mbappe this week. PSG are still not interested in paying the amount and will be taking the battle to court once again and it could take few months before the verdict.
The Real Madrid star was asked about the unpaid wages earlier this season and he refused to entertain the question. The striker claimed that he had only positive things to say about his former club. He said in a press conference in September 2024:
"Issues with PSG on salary? I've only positive things to say about PSG, I wish them all the best."
PSG reportedly refused to pay Mbappe his wages and bonuses as the Frenchman left the club as a free agent. They were furious with the striker as they had paid €180 million to sign him from AS Monaco but he refused to sign a new deal and get them a transfer fee from Real Madrid this summer.
Kylian Mbappe's mother comments on PSG wages and bonuses issue
Kylian Mbappe's mother, Fayza Lamari, was quizzed by Le Parisien earlier this year about the legal battle with PSG. She was confident that they would reach an agreement soon, but the battle has continued for months.
She said:
"It's still going on. It's now in the hands of Kylian's representatives. But I trust PSG that things will get back to normal very quickly. We just received a response letter from them. Decisions will be made. Sometimes, during separations, you have to decide who gets the TV, keeps the furniture or the car... That's where we are. I hope that all this won't tarnish everything we've experienced.
"If we have no choice, yes, of course. Now, I really hope that the contract we signed two years ago will be respected. Let's stop saying: 'Kylian said, didn't say, did this, didn't do that.' Nobody, in reality, can say what happened, neither me, nor the representatives of PSG, since for two years Kylian and the president have always seen each other alone, except once. And all that hasn't stopped Kylian from playing since the announcement in February."
