Real Madrid star ruled out of pre-season tour following injury - Reports
According to Marca, Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo has suffered a muscular injury and is a doubt for pre-season, Vallejo spent the 2023-24 season away on loan at Malaga and convinced Carlo Ancelotti that he could be in the team this season.
However, the recent injury has cast doubt over his participation in the US pre-season. After Nacho's exit, Vallejo is the fourth-choice centre-back in the team, behind Eder Miltato, Antonio Rudiger, and David Alaba.
Vallejo's injury, however, leaves Ancelotti in limbo, who might have to take youngsters from Castilla to the pre-season. The full extent of Vallejo's injury remains unknown.
Los Blancos didn't sign Leny Yoro in the summer, losing the defender to Manchester United. However, Vallejo's injury raises eyebrows over Ancelotti's side's lack of depth in defense.
Vallejo, 27, has so far made 31 appearances for Los Blancos' first team. He has also played for clubs like Wolves, Eintracht Frankfurt, Real Zaragoza, and Granada during his career.
Real Madrid are set to play AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea in their pre-season US tour. The club kick off their campaign on August 14, taking on Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup.
