Real Madrid star wants to leave this summer due to lack of game time: Reports
Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos reportedly wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer transfer window. As per The Athletic, the Spanish midfielder will have sufficient suitors if he does end up leaving in the ongoing transfer season.
According to the aforementioned report, the former Arsenal man is looking to move away due to a lack of game time. He has made his feelings aware to Los Blancos as he looks for the perfect move going forward.
Ceballos has found it hard to break into the Real Madrid midfield, with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Toni Kroos playing in central areas. Overall, the 27-year-old started just five La Liga matches in his 20 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign, bagging two assists.
Although it is believed that Ceballos will have prominence after Kroos' departure, this summer, he is looking for a way out. However, Carlo Ancelotti and Co. still want to retain the player's services, which could make it harder for potential clubs to sign him.
On top of that, Ceballos has three years left on his current deal at the Spanish capital and will not be a cheap signing by any means. Overall he's played 147 appearances across competitions for Real Madrid, bagging seven goals and 14 assists.
To date, the Spaniard has managed to win the La Liga trophy twice and the UEFA Champions League thrice, among other honors with Los Blancos.
Tottenham Hotspur make move to sign Real Madrid midfielder this summer - Reports
Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz in the summer transfer window. This report comes from Foot Mercato, who claim that Spurs are looking for midfield reinforcements (via 90 min).
The same report states that Los Blancos have clarified to the north Londoners and other suitors, including Italian club AS Roma, that the midfielder is not up for sale. Regardless, a deal for Diaz would cost a fair bit with three years left on the Morocco international's current contract.
However, he isn't a sure-shot starter under Carlo Ancelotti, and this trend is likely to continue into the 2024-25 season as well. Diaz made 44 appearances across competitions for his current employers in the season gone by, bagging 12 goals and nine assists.
Should he wish for guaranteed game time, the 24-year-old may wish to consider options elsewhere.
