Real Madrid suffer major scare as 24-year-old star picks up injury in UCL clash against AC Milan: Reports

According to journalist Guillermo Rai, Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni picked up a knock during the 3-1 loss to AC Milan. The Frenchman was seen limping as he walked back to the dressing room in the Champions League clash on Tuesday night (November 5).

Los Blancos needed a win following their 4-0 loss at the hands of Barcelona at the end of October. But AC Milan took the lead through Malick Thiaw's header in the 12th minute.

Although Vinicius Junior equalized for the LaLiga champions from the spot 11 minutes later, the Italian giants soon reclaimed their lead. Tchouameni gave away the ball, which ultimately saw Alvaro Morata find the back of the net in the 38th minute.

The two players also collided in the first half, but it wasn't deemed dangerous and both continued. However, Carlo Ancelotti took the French midfielder off during half-time, opting to bring on Brahim Diaz in his place.

Unfortunately, Real Madrid fell 3-1 behind through Tijjani Reijnders' 73rd-minute strike, which ultimately sealed the deal for AC Milan. The Spanish champions have now lost two of their four games in the Champions League this season and are 17th in the table.

The injury to Aurelien Tchouameni could be a cause for concern, but Los Blancos believe it is a minor knock. The Frenchman will undergo a scan to assess the severity of the injury.

Real Madrid, however, will be worried with the 24-year-old's form. His poor performances have also affected the team, with the Spanish champions conceding seven goals in their last two games across competitions.

Will Real Madrid sign a new midfielder in 2025?

Real Madrid opted against reinforcing their midfield this summer, despite Toni Kroos' retirement. The German midfielder called time on his illustrious career and many would argue that Los Blancos have struggled to cope with his absence.

With Luka Moric also in the final phase of his career, the LaLiga giants could be tempted to invest in the middle of the park in 2025. The Croatian legend's contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of this season and he is yet to be offered a new deal.

Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that Liverpool are eyeing a move for Aurelien Tchouameni in 2025. With Dani Ceballos' future also uncertain, the Spanish champions could be forced to target a new face next summer.
