Real Madrid target move to sign 3 Serie A stars with combined value over €100 million: Reports
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing three Serie A players with a combined value of over €100 million. As claimed by Spanish outlet Fichajes via Madrid Universal, Los Blancos have set their sights on Giorgio Scalvini, Kenan Yildiz, and Michael Kayode.
Real Madrid are understood to be keen to refresh their squad with younger players and all three Serie A stars fit their plans. The trio are all under 21 and have already made a name for themselves in the top tier of Italian football.
Giorgio Scalvini, 20, is a highly-rated Italian centre-back who plies his trade for Atalanta and is already capped eight times for Italy. He has made 99 appearances across competitions for La Dea so far and helped Gian Piero Gasperini's side win the Europa League last season.
Michael Kayode, also 20, is on the books of Fiorentina and is a bombarding full-back who can also play as a wing-back. Since joining La Viola in 2021, he has made 42 appearances, contributing with one goal and four assists.
Kenin Yildiz is just 19 years of age and is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe. The versatile attacking midfielder has made 42 appearances for Juventus while also earning 16 caps for Turkey.
As per the aforementioned report, Scanvini is valued at around €45 million and is contracted at Atalanta until 2028. Kayode, on the other hand, is contracted at Fiorentina until 2028 and is valued at €27 million. Real Madrid's other top target Yildiz's contract with Juventus runs until 2029 and is valued at €50 million.
PSG manager Luis Enrique backs Real Madrid star to win 2024 Ballon d'Or
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager Luis Enrique claimed that Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior deserves to win the 2024 Ballon d'Or. The former Barcelona manager, however, insisted that he is not a fan of individual awards and values a team's success more.
The former Spain manager told TNT Sports Brazil via PSG Talk:
“Who’s going to win it? Do you guys know? I hope it’s Vinícius Júnior, a Brazilian. He’d deserve it, for sure. But honestly, as a coach, I don’t really care much about these individual awards. I don’t believe in them at all."
“They’re just part of the marketing. Yeah, they recognize a player who’s done well, scored a lot, and won titles, but without the team, a player is nothing. So, congrats to whoever wins, whether it’s Vinícius or someone else, but I’ll always value the team more,” Enrique added.
Vinicius Junior has been tipped as the outstanding candidate for the Ballon d'Or. He played an integral role in Real Madrid's success last season as Los Blancos won the La Liga title and the Champions League.
The Brazil international scored 24 goals and provided 11 assists in 39 games across competitions for Carlo Ancelotti's side last term. Real Madrid trio Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Dani Carvajal are also believed to be in the running for the prestigious award.
