Real Madrid Transfer News Roundup: Los Blancos receive Alexander-Arnold boost, club can sign German ace for €15m, and more - November 13, 2024

Real Madrid are second in the LaLiga table with 27 points, six points behind leaders Barcelona, who have played a game more. Carlo Ancelotti's team have eight wins and three draws in the league this season.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos have received a boost in their plans to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2025. Elsewhere, the Spanish champions could sign a German defender for just €15m in January.

On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from November 13, 2024.

Real Madrid receive Trent Alexander-Arnold boost

According to ABC, Trent Alexander-Arnold is reluctant to sign a new deal with Liverpool. The English right-back is in the final year of his contract with the Reds and is being eyed by Real Madrid.

Los Blancos would ideally like to sign him on a Bosman move next summer. However, Dani Carvajal's unfortunate ACL injury, picked up last month, has accelerated their plans.

The Spaniard is not expected to return to action this season, a huge blow to Carlo Ancelotti's plans. The Italian manager is eager for reinforcements, so the latest news about Alexander-Arnold will be a big boost for the LaLiga champions.

The 26-year-old has all the ingredients to be a hit at the Santiago Bernabeu and could be the ideal long-term replacement for Carvajal. However, the report adds that a move in January is unlikely.

Liverpool haven't given up on a renewal yet, and are willing to risk losing him for free in the summer. Alexander-Arnold hasn't shown any desire to leave in the middle of the season either, as he doesn't want to sour his relationship with the Reds.

Real Madrid, as such, may have to wait until the end of the season to secure his signature.

Los Blancos can sign Jonathan Tah for €15m in January

Jonathan Tah could be available for just €15m in January, according to BILD. The German defender will enter the final six months of his contract with Bayer Leverkusen at the turn of the year.

Tah has already announced that he will part ways with the Bundesliga champions in 2025. With Real Madrid eager for defensive reinforcements in January, the German defender has emerged as an option.

Carlo Ancelotti recently lost Eder Militao to an ACL injury. David Alaba remains sidelined with a similar injury picked up last year. The Italian manager has just Antonio Rudiger and Jesus Vallejo as the only fit senior options.

Vallejo, interestingly, has just 10 minutes of first-team action under his belt this season. Los Blancos are looking to address the issue in January and Tah is on their radar.

The 28-year-old will be available on a Bosman move next summer. However, the LaLiga champions could secure his services in the winter for a nominal fee.

Former player advises Real Madrid to sign Alexander Isak

Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott believes Alexander Isak would be a good fit at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 25-year-old has gone strength to strength with Newcastle United of late and has scored five goals in 11 games across competitions this season.

Real Madrid's frontline looks a little disjointed at the moment, despite the arrival of Kylian Mbappe over the summer. Carlo Ancelotti's team lack a proper No. 9, with the French superstar yet to impress in that role.

Speaking on The BBC, Walcott insisted that the Swedish striker could add balance to the Italian's attack.

“Look at Real Madrid’s line-up at the moment. They go for these galacticos and they buy these incredible talents, but sometimes they put them in positions where they can’t do well,” said Walcott.
“If you put Isak in that Real Madrid team, he moulds them in a different way. His ability to play in different positions and in all front-line roles makes him a constant threat. With Isak, Madrid would become a balanced team. He’s the closest thing we’ve seen to Thierry Henry,” he added.

Alexander Isak's contract with the Magpies runs until 2028.
