Recently promoted PL side set to sign Chelsea star Armando Broja on loan: Reports

Out-of-favor Chelsea striker Armando Broja is reportedly on the verge of joining recently promoted Premier League club Ipswich Town on loan. The 22-year-old forward is seemingly outside Enzo Maresca's plans at Stamford Bridge, hence the club is eager to ship him on.

The Chelsea academy product has struggled for opportunities in the Blues' first team. He showed early promise, scoring six Premier League goals during a loan spell at Southampton in the 2021/22 season. However, his progress was halted by an ACL tear in 2023.

Since returning from injury, he has found it difficult to break into Chelsea’s starting lineup. There has been increased competition from the club’s established forwards and the plethora of new signings.

According to a report from the East Anglian Daily Times (EADT), newcomers Ipswich are eager to acquire the forward on a loan deal. The original report by EADT noted that Ipswich Town has already reached an agreement with the west London giants. An official announcement could be made within the next 24 hours.

A loan move to the Tractor Boys can help Broja earn the much-needed game time and match fitness, which he has been lacking. Last season, the Albanian striker had just six starts in the Premier League.

With his contract running until 2028, the Blues will be hoping that the loan move will help the young striker unlock his potential in the near future. The move, if finalized, will mark Broja’s fourth loan spell away from his parent club, following stints at Vitesse, Southampton, and Fulham.

Juventus express interest in signing outcast Chelsea winger

Speculations regarding Raheem Sterling's future at Chelsea have been on the rise since his exclusion from the matchday squad to face Manchester City on August 18. According to Mail Sport, through a statement from his representatives, Sterling decided to seek clarity over his future at the London club after the incident.

Before the simmering situation, Italian heavyweights Juventus had registered an interest with Chelsea in the 29-year-old forward, Mail Sport reported.

After the purchasing spree, the Blues are in immediate need of reducing their squad strength which now stands at over 40. Hence, the departure of a few known figures has been long expected.

Meanwhile, with Federico Chiesa set to be shown the exit door, Sterling might be a tempting option for the Old Lady to replenish their wide options.
