The Reds will host Wolves in the Premier League in their final game of the season. It's set to be an emotional game as Klopp will leave the club after a nine-year stint. His coaching staff will leave with him. As per Liverpool ECHO, six players could also bid their farewell on Sunday.
Joel Matip is set to leave the club as a free agent with his contract expiring this summer. Since arriving from FC Schalke 04 in 2016, he's made 201 appearances for the Merseysiders, including 14 this season. He suffered an ACL injury in December and has been out of action since.
Along with Matip, Thiago Alcantara will also leave Anfield as a free agent. He has made 98 appearances for the club since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2020. His Liverpool stint was marred with injuries as he missed over 100 games. Third-choice goalkeeper Adrian will also leave as a free agent.
As per the aforementioned report, Caoimhin Kelleher, Mohamed Salah, and Alisson Becker could also leave this summer. Kelleher has been linked with a move away in search of regular playing time. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest in Salah and Alisson and could make big bids to sign them this summer.
Arne Slot set to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool
The Reds are set to bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp after nine years, which saw them win every trophy available. The German manager impacted Liverpool on and off the pitch in terms of the culture, playing style, and much more.
Hence, filling in his boots won't be easy and Arne Slot is set to take up that challenge. The Dutch manager confirmed that he will take over from Klopp, saying (via BBC):
"I can confirm that I will become the trainer there next year."
Feyenoord are set to take on Excelsior at home in their final game of the season on Sunday, May 19, where they will bid farewell to Slot. They finished second in the Eredivisie behind PSV Eindhoven this season, having won the title last time out.
