SPL club wants Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr to include Sadio Mane in swap deal for Saudi Arabian footballer - Reports

According to a report from Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr have been asked to swap Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane as part of a deal for Moteb Al-Harbi. The 24-year-old left-back has emerged as a target of the Saudi Pro-League giants, who are keen to reinforce and challenge for the league this season.

The Arabian left-back has played 107 times for Al-Shabab, scoring five times and providing 12 assists. Al-Shabab see a deal for the former Liverpool forward who arrived in the Middle East last summer as a fair deal.

Mane joined Al-Nassr last summer for €30 million from Bayern Munich in a bid to bolster the team and help them to the league title. He bagged 19 goals and 13 assists in 50 games last season and will be seen as a valuable team member. Mane is contracted to the team till the summer of 2026 and will be seen as a good backup option to Cristiano Ronaldo whose deal expires next summer.

Sadio Mane encouraged his Al-Nassr teammate Cristiano Ronaldo after he missed his penalty against Slovenia at Euro 2024. The Senegalese forward joined the legendary striker at the Saudi club and took time out to hail his teammate in one of his darkest hours.

Ronaldo took and missed a penalty in extra time in the round of 16 of the recently concluded European Championships and was crestfallen as a result. However, the Real Madrid legend had the presence of mind to step up first and convert the first spot-kick in the ensuing shootout to see his nation emerge victorious.

Speaking via the Mirror, Mane hailed his teammate despite the penalty miss, saying:

“You remain a great champion.”

The Senegalese striker is a legendary figure for his country, bagging 43 goals in 107 games and helping them to AFCON success in 2022. He has also been crowned African Player of the Year on two occasions, in 2019 and 2022.

Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo are tasked with leading Al-Nassr to glory in the ongoing season after failing to secure any silverware last season.
