Turkish giants Besiktas want to sign Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate, have made contract offer to player: Reports

Super Lig outfit Besiktas are reportedly interested in adding Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate Sadio Mane to their ranks this summer.

Mane, 32, left Bundesliga side Bayern Munich in a €30 million deal to join Al-Nassr last summer. He helped his club finish second in the Saudi Pro League table last season, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions in the process.

However, according to Turkish newspaper Fotomac, Mane is currently unsettled at Al-Nassr and is considering a return to Europe. As a result, the winger has recently been approached by Besiktas with a contract offer worth less than his current package at Ronaldo's club.

Mane, whose current deal is set to run out in June 2026, could opt to leave his club after Angelo and Wesley's recent arrivals for a combined fee of €41 million. He still could decide to join Besiktas before the end of Turkey's summer transfer deadline on Friday (September 13).

So far this season, the former Liverpool and Southampton attacker has laid out two assists in four matches across competitions for Al-Nassr.

Scotland international Ryan Gauld believes Cristiano Ronaldo won't retire anytime soon

Ahead of Portugal's 2-1 UEFA Nations League win over Scotland earlier this Sunday (September 8), Ryan Gauld claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is nowhere near hanging up his boots. He said (h/t GOAL):

"He doesn't look like he's ready to give up any time soon. As long as there's a chance to play and a chance to score goals, I'm guessing he'll be there. I played at Sporting, where he started out. He's obviously a hero around those parts. There are murals everywhere and that kind of thing. You won't find anyone saying a bad word about him. You can see why he wants to play as much as he can."

Gauld, who featured in 16 minutes of action against Portugal, added:

"I think it inspires everyone when you see how good a shape he's in at the age of 39. He's still got the mentality to play at the highest level he can and score goals. It definitely proves if you want to play on, you totally can if you look after yourself and do the right things. I think, just for football in general, he's someone that everyone would look up to."

After enduring a tough five-game goal drought at the UEFA Euro 2024, Ronaldo has scored two goals in his last two games for Portugal.

Ronaldo, who will turn 40 next February, has contributed four goals and two assists in four overall appearances for Al-Nassr so far this season.
