“We’ll see after the Euros" - Barcelona target not closing door on possible exit form current club amid Bayern Munich interest

Barcelona and Bayern Munich target Xavi Simons has responded to speculation about his club future. Simons is currently in the Netherlands' squad for Euro 2024 and started in the goalless draw against France.

The 21-year-old is touted as one of the top young players in world football. He enjoyed a fruitful season with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists in 43 appearances across competitions.

Simons has claimed that he will make a decision regarding his club future after the conclusion of the ongoing Euro 2024. He told reporters (via Barca Universal):

"We'll see after the Euros. I was happy in Paris. Things have happened. Now I was in Leipzig this year. We'll see after the Euros."

Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Simons. The midfielder is on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain. Simons has an estimated market value of €80 million. The midfielder came through the Barcelona youth setup but never featured for the first team.

The attacking midfielder already has 16 appearances for the Dutch national team under his belt. He has started both the Euro 2024 games for the Oranje.

Chris Watts urges Arsenal to enter race for Barcelona target Xavi Simons

Clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Xavi Simons. Bayern are reportedly ready to spend €100 million for the Dutchman.

Chris Watts has now suggested that Arsenal should also enter the race. Speaking to Caugh Ooffside, Watts said:

"Xavi Simons is another player who seems to be constantly linked with Arsenal. I've to say, I've heard nothing yet that suggests they'd make a move for him. But if PSG are open to letting him out on loan again, then I really do think Arsenal should enter the conversation."

Arsenal already have Martin Odegaard in midfield, who is also the club captain. The Norwegian is one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment so signing Simons might not be on the Gunners' priority list.
