"We have to show this on the pitch" - Carlo Ancelotti reveals Real Madrid have 'found the solution' to poor results amid recent backlash
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that he has found a solution to the club's recent poor form. Los Blancos have lost their last two games across competitions, to Barcelona and AC Milan, respectively.
The reigning LaLiga champions have failed to impress this season, despite roping in Kylian Mbappe over the summer. Ancelotti is already feeling the heat after falling nine points behind Barcelona in the league, although the Catalans have played an extra game.
Real Madrid will have their task cut out when they face Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, November 9, in the league. Los Blancos cannot afford anything other than a win as a defeat could be catastrophic for Ancelotti.
Speaking to the press, as cited by acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian manager insisted that his team would overcome their troubles with sacrifice, focus, and collective effort.
“I think we found the solution. Now we have to show this on the pitch. Sacrifice, focus and collective effort. This is the key. It's a difficult moment for us… but I'm happy to be here at the best club in the world,” said Ancelotti.
Carlo Ancelotti's current contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2026.
How many goals has Kylian Mbappe scored for Real Madrid this season?
When Real Madrid secured the services of Kylian Mbappe this summer, they were expected to begin a new era of domination of European football. The French superstar was a long-term target for the club and arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as one of his generation's finest players.
However, Mbappe has endured an indifferent start to his tenure with the LaLiga giants. The 25-year-old has registered eight goals and two assists from 15 games across competitions.
Clearly, he has yet to set the stage alight with Los Blancos. It may be argued that Carlo Ancelotti has failed to get the best out of the French superstar, who is already dividing opinion among fans.
Kylian Mbappe has spent the majority of his career as a left-forward and has been highly successful in that role. The player registered 256 goals and 108 assists from 308 games across competitions for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Unfortunately, Vinicius Junior operates in that position for Real Madrid, and the Frenchman has had to play as a No. 9 so far under Ancelotti. The Italian manager now has to come up with a system that uses both Vinicius and Mbappe to their strengths.
