Will Carlo Ancelotti stay at Real Madrid beyond this season? New report outlines the club's plans

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was in the club's training ground to meet Carlo Ancelotti after the team suffered a humiliation against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Los Blancos were beaten 4-0 in the second leg at the Etihad. The club will end the season with only the Copa del Rey, as Barcelona won La Liga this season. Carlo Ancelotti, however, is expected to remain at the helm next season.

Perez has outlined his plan for the 2023–24 season, as he is keen to make a couple of key signings to reinforce the squad. Jude Bellingham remains the team's top priority. They are also keen on adding a backup to Karim Benzema in the striker slot (according to MARCA).

Real Madrid reached the semi-finals of the Champions League for the second year in a row under Ancelotti. The Italian is convinced that the squad still has it in them to produce for the upcoming season.

Real Madrid suffered a heavy defeat against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. However, Ancelotti denied that there were any doubts about his future at the club.

The Italian also confirmed that he had also had an affirmative talk with Florentino Perez regarding his future at the club.

He told the media following the clash against the Cityzens (via ESPN):

"Nobody doubts. Because the president was quite clear a couple of weeks ago. So, nobody doubts."

Luka Modric, meanwhile, told the media after the game:

"The boss deserves to carry on, I don't have any doubts. Since he arrived for his second spell he's won every trophy. Last year was an incredible season. This season we did very well in LaLiga until the World Cup, fighting for everything, and then we had some defeats that we didn't want or expect."

Hence, it is evident that despite Los Blancos' defeat in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, the board and the team still have trust in Ancelotti. Whether he can deliver next season remains to be seen.
