Will Kylian Mbappe play for France in Euro 2024 clash vs Netherlands? Report makes big claim on Real Madrid superstar’s surgery after broken nose

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Kylian Mbappe will not play in France's Euro 2024 clash against the Netherlands on June 21, barring any major surprises.

The new Real Madrid superstar suffered a broken nose in Les Bleus' Euro opener against Austria. France won, courtesy of an own goal from Maximilian Wober (38').

Mbappe broke his nose while trying to head the ball during the latter stages of the game. He was forced to go off as a result and even received a yellow card for coming onto the pitch without the referee's permission. Mbappe will now miss the next game against the Oranje, as per reports.

As per Hawkins, Kylian Mbappe will not undergo surgery for his broken nose. However, France are unwilling to take any risks with their captain. Even if examinations come out positive, he is expected to be sidelined for the Netherlands game.

No decision regarding Mbappe's participation in the third and final group game against Poland has been taken yet.

Mbappe is France's main attacker in Euro 2024. His injury is a big blow to Didier Deschamps' team.

Preserving the superstar attacker for the knockout stages is perhaps the better decision for France. They have put themselves in a favorable position by winning the first game and have other good players who can carry the attacking duty in Mbappe's absence.

Kylian Mbappe suffered an unfortunate broken nose against Austria. However, he then came back onto the pitch and inexplicably sat down. Mbappe received a yellow card for entering the pitch without the referee's permission.

Roy Keane slammed Kylian Mbappe's actions during the Euro 2024 game. He said on iTV after the match:

"He gets an injury, it's frustrating. Obviously he has gone back onto the pitch to stop the play. But he's gone onto sit on the pitch, I don't like to see this, this is out of order if he has been ordered by the manager to go back on."

France edged past Austria in the Euro 2024 opener and are one of the favorites for the Euro 2024. Ralf Rangnick's side, though, made the game very close.
