21-year-old Manchester United star wants exit, hands in transfer request - Reports

Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri has reportedly handed in a transfer request as he seeks an exit from the club. The 21-year-old debuted for the senior team in the 2020-21 season.

However, Mejbri has scored just once in 13 games across competitions, with the lone goal coming in five outings in the Premier League last season, where the Red Devils finished a lowly eighth, their worst finish in the PL era.

It now seems like the Tunisian's future lies away from Old Trafford, where his current deal runs out next summer. That's because as per BuzznewTunisia (via Mufcmpb), the 21-year-old has handed in a transfer request, which means he might have played his last for Ten Hag's side.

Mejbri is coming off a rather forgettable loan spell at Sevilla, where he played just six times in La Liga after arriving in January. He played just once in five pre-season friendlies and didn't feature in the FA Community Shield loss to Manchester City on Saturday (August 10).

The Red Devils opened the scoring through Alejandro Garnacho in the 82nd minute before Bernardo Silva equalised for City seven minutes later. In the ensuing shootout, Pep Guardiola's side came back from 3-1 down to win 7-6 to win their first title of the season.

As per Sport Witness (via People's Report), Celtic and Rangers are interested in Mejbri's services, with a transfer fee of around £7 million being reported.

Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has joined West Ham United in a seven-year deal, as reported by the BBC. In 190 appearances across competitions, the 26-year-old scored twice and won the EFL Cup and the FA Cup respectively in the last two seasons.

Wan-Bissaka is the Hammers' eighth summer arrival ahead of the new season. Following his return to London, the city of his birth, the Manchester United defender said:

"It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham - I'm excited and happy to be here. I can't wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there.
"I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others' backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad."

The Red Devils begin their new Premier League campaign at home to Fulham on Friday (August 16).
