Rumour: AC Milan eyeing De Boer as Allegri replacement
As per reports in Goal.com, AC Milan are reportedly looking to replace their current coach Massimiliano Allegri with Ajax coach Frank De Boer. The former Dutch left back could be soon approached by the Rossoneri in order to replace their current coach.
AC Milan has had a disastrous start to their 2013-14 Serie A season. Currently standing at the 9th position with 18 points, Milan will soon try to make amends to make their present season better. Frank De Boer currently managing Ajax FC will be facing AC Milan in the champions league fixture on Wednesday will have a do or die situation. A win for Ajax would mean round of 16 for the Dutch team but a loss could mean the Europe league for them.
Frank De Boer has won 3 back to back Eredivisie titles with Ajax and has also won the Rinus Michels award for winning the titles. He was also the assistant coach for the Dutch national football team which was the runners up at World Cup 2010 after a 1-0 loss to Spain. Ajax currently stand in the 2nd position, 2 points behind league leader Vitesse.
Adding to Milan’s woes is the departure of the AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani. The Italian was the CEO of AC Milan for 27 years during which Milan had eight Serie A title, 5 European cups/UEFA Champions league titles and also was involved in transfer of high profile football players including Robinho and Mario Balotelli from Manchester City, Zlatan Ibrahimovic from FC Barcelona and also Kaka from Real Madrid CF.
