Rumour: AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri to be sacked
AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri might face the axe this week, with vice-president Barbara Berlusconi demanding an immediate change in administration following Milan’s humiliating 4-3 Serie A loss to Sassuolo, reports calciomercato.
“This was a very disappointing and unacceptable performance, which confirms the urgent need of a change,” quoted Berlusconi after the defeat.
The officials have now called a press conference for Monday at which Allegri is speculated to be dismissed with Clarence Seedorf being the most prominent successor along with Mauro Tassotti and Filippo Inzaghi.
“I’m okay with myself,” Allegri told the Rai. “I have always done my best and I’ll keep on doing that if I keep my job. Anyway, whatever happens, I’ll accept it.”
When asked about Seedorf, this is what vice-president Adriano Galliani had to say: “Is Seedorf in pole position? Let’s just say a position.”
“I have seen him, but I see him every year – we are friends. Let’s just go forwards and wait until the end of the season. That’s when we’ll see who the next Coach of Milan will be,” he told Football Italia.
Milan are 11th in the Serie A standings right now, thirty points behind leaders Juventus.
