Rumour: AC Milan renew interest in Brazilian Ganso
Rio de Janeiro, Nov 29: AC Milan have renewed their interest in rejuvenated Brazilian midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso.
The 24-year-old has recovered from a string of injuries to recapture his best form for Sao Paulo in the Campeonato Brasileiro this season, reports Xinhua.
According to local daily Globoesporte, Ganso sees the European transfer window as a chance to earn an international recall for Brazil ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Sao Paulo would benefit by cashing in while demand for the former Selecao prodigy is high. The club bought him from Brazilian rivals Santos last year for $12 million.
Ganso was once regarded among Brazil’s brightest prospects and until last year was linked to a number of European clubs, including AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.
He wore the Selecao’s coveted No. 10 shirt at the 2011 Copa America but lost his place in the team following a knee injury before last year’s London Olympics.
