Rumour: Arsenal and Chelsea target PSG's Adrien Rabiot
Premier League pair Arsenal and Chelsea’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot has been given a boost as reports have emerged that the midfielder is yet to agree a contract extension with the Ligue 1 giants.
The Frenchman’s current deal with the Parisiens expires in 2015 and Laurent Blanc’s side offered him a new contract last August.
However, the midfielder snubbed the chance to commit his future to the club, according to Talk Sport, and turned down a deal that would have kept him at the club until 2018.
Rabiot wants assurances about the amount of playing time he will receive as at just 18-year-old he needs regular football in order to develop fully and is uninterested in a spell on the Parc des Princes’ bench. But with a vast amount of talent within Paris Saint-Germain’s squad he is unlikely to be granted such a request, which has put several clubs on high alert as he is now likely to become available.
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho are both believed to be admirers of the youngster and with the player growing unsettled with his current situation, they may try their luck at the end of the season and attempt to prise the youngster away from France.
