Arsenal interested in Sebastian Giovinco?

Arsenal have been given a boost in their hunt for a striker after Sebastian Giovinco’s agent opened the door to moving away from Juventus in the summer after the Italian forward has found himself struggling for regular first team football this season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a long term admirer of the diminutive striker, with Arsenal having reportedly made enquires for Giovinco in January and his lack of first team opportunities have made him available and interested in a summer transfer.

Wenger has already confirmed that striking reinforcements are a priority for his summer transfer dealings, after finding himself restricted to having just Olivier Giroud to choose from in terms of senior strikers.

The Frenchman has needed back-up and looked jaded at times, but with just the untested Yaya Sanogo and the unreliable Nicklas Bendtner in reserve to Giroud following Theo Walcott’s knee injury, Arsenal have had few alternatives to come into the team.

News from Italy could reignite the Gunners’ interest however, as Giovinco’s agent Claudio Pasqualin admitted that Giovinco may look to quit Juventus in order to find regular first team football.

Pasqualin told reporters, “Sebastian still has one more year on his contract.

“We’re just going to have to wait and see what happens.”
