Rumour: Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United looking to sign Southampton's Luke Shaw

Talented young left-back Luke Shaw

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keenly monitoring the situation at St. Mary’s following the resignation of executive chairman Nicola Cortese to snap up wonder-kid Luke Shaw if the opportunity arises, reports suggest.

The departure of the chairman leaves Southampton in a midst of a turmoil, which could see a bidding war start for the coveted yougster. Chelsea and Manchester United have been admirers of the youngster for quite some time now, with Jose Mourinho even stating that Shaw is the natural successor of Chelsea and England first choice left-back Ashley Cole.

Cortese and manager Pochettino had long put a ‘not-for-sale’ tag on the youngster, but with the current trouble brewing at the St. Mary’s and the possible departure of Pochettino, things can take a drastic turn.

A fire sale of one of the most talented and young squad in the League can also be seen on the horizon. While, all three of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal set to take advantage of the club’s misfortune to their advantage.
