Rumour: Arsenal officials in Italy to sign Lazio striker Miroslav Klose
Arsenal representatives are in Italy to finalise a short-term loan deal with Miroslav Klose, according to Goal. The Gunners are closing in on another loan signing in Kim Kallstrom, too, who has arrived at Arsenal’s training ground to complete his move.
Meanwhile, in Italy, negotiations are ongoing t finalise the deal to bring the German, Klose, to the Emirates on-loan.
Arsenal were hoping to secure the signing of Julian Draxler, but it is believed that Arsene Wenger decided against it as he did not want to pay £37 million on the youngster.
However, with only Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner as Wenger’s first-team senior strikers, he needed to dip into the market for another forward, hence his movement for Lazio forward Klose.
The 35-year-old has been in Italy with Lazio since 2011 and has scored 33 goals in 69 Serie A appearances.
He was previously at Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen and has appeared 130 times for Germany, scoring 68 goals.
Klose has five goals in 15 Serie A games this season and has also created 10 chances.
