Rumour: Arsenal and Manchester United linked with Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye
Yohan Cabaye has reopened the door for a move to either Arsenal orManchester United after having second thoughts about a move to Paris St-Germain.
Cabaye was expected to seal a deal in excess of £20 million to the French giants either in January or the summer, but is reconsidering his options after re-evaluating his career prospects. The Frenchman scored the winner against Man United at Old Trafford earlier this season.
PSG already have Javier Pastore, Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti to fill the central midfield berth and are expected to launch a summer bid to bring Paul Pogba in from Juventus.
And Cabaye is worried that a move to the French capital could result in him spending a lot of time on the bench, with the France international keen on having a regular starting place upon his next move.
Arsenal were linked with a move for Cabaye last summer, but refused to meet Newcastle‘s asking price, which has since rocketed after another fine season in the famous black and white stripes.
United have also been repeatedly linked as they look to shake up a frail looking midfield, which could soon be boosted by the £37m arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea.
Both sides could now revive their interest after conceding defeat to PSG in the race for his signature, with Cabaye expected to move to a bigger club in the summer at the latest.
Cabaye has scored more goals (7) and created more chances (33) than any member of Paris St-Germain’s current midfield options.
