Barcelona ask Jaden Philogene's agent to leave training ground after coming unannounced to conduct photoshoot - Reports
According to Gerardo Romero, Jaden Philogene's agent Berto Camacho was asked to leave Barcelona's training grounds after coming in unannounced for a photoshoot.
Philogene, an England under-21 international, plays for Hull City. He had an impressive 2023-24 campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances across competitions.
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg reported that Barcelona have submitted a bid to make Philogene their first summer signing, but Romero has refuted that.
He said that Barca directors are unaware of the player and that it's a PR move from the player's agency to spike interest in him. Amidst all this, Philogene's agent Camacho showed up to conduct an unannounced photoshoot at the club's car park but was escorted out.
As per the same report, Spain international Nico Williams remains Barca's primary choice as the club look to bolster their wide player pool in the summer transfer window.
Following Xavi's departure, the Blaugrana are set for a new chapter under Hansi Flick. Barca are looking to improve their squad ahead of the new season. As for Philogene, Ipswich is the player's most likely destination, as per GiveMeSport.
Barcelona identify three key players who could leave to facilitate Nico Williams transfer
Nico Williams is Barcelona's priority signing this summer. Williams, though, has a release clause of €58 million at Athletic Bilbao, who could want that sum to let the player leave.
As per Cadena SER, Barca have identified Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha as the three players who could leave in the summer to facilitate a bid for Williams.
Williams had an impressive 2023-24 season with Bilbao, scoring eight goals and providing 19 assists in 37 appearances across competitions. He has been impressive during the ongoing Euro 2024, scoring one and assisted one in the 4-1 Round of 16 win over Georgia earlier this week.
