Barcelona star linked with surprise move to Turkish powerhouse in January: Reports

Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce are interested in signing Barcelona attacker Ansu Fati in the January transfer window, according to GOAL.

The La Masia graduate was touted as Lionel Messi's successor in the Blaugrana's attack. However, he has struggled for fitness and consistency. In the ongoing league season, Fati has missed four games due to a foot injury. He was an unused substitute on three occasions and has only featured for 23 minutes in the competition for Barcelona this season.

Meanwhile, his two appearances in the UEFA Champions League were from the bench. He's yet to make Barcelona's starting XI in any game this season.

Having made only three appearances for the Blaugrana so far, the Spaniard might be considering his options, as Fenerbahce have shown interest in signing him. According to Transfermarkt, Fati's market value is €15 million, and his contract at the Camp Nou expires in June 2027.

Fati has netted 29 goals and registered 10 assists in 115 appearances for the Blaugrana. Hence, a move to Fenerbahce could give the youngster make a fresh start.

However, Barcelona's hierarchy would look to get a decent valuation if they sell the Spaniard to Fenerbahce in January.

Barcelona reportedly willing to sell Frenkie de Jong

While the Blaugrana are going through a rebuild, one of the players the club hierarchy have been looking to sell is Frenkie de Jong. That's because he's one of the highest earners at the club and has made only two appearances across competition this season.

While the Blaugrana could look to secure a striker who could be a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, they might have to offload one of their big earners.

According to GOAL, Blaugrana's hierarchy are willing to sell De Jong to reduce their financial burden and enabling them to make new signings. It remains to be seen if the club secure a buyer for the Dutchman, as his contract expires in June 2026.
