Big spenders AS Monaco are said to be interested in Manchester City’s captain fantastic Vincent Kompany.

The defender has been out for the majority of the season, which has exposed Manchester City’s frailties at the back. He is their organiser, and commands the defensive area of the field.

The tall Belgian, who is arguably the best centre-back in the league, will not be allowed to go anywhere. The Ligue 1 outfit will have their work cut out for them, if they are to land the 27-year-old.
