Rumour: Chelsea plan shock move for Tottenham Hotspur duo Paulinho and Vlad Chiriches
In shocking developments at Stamford Bridge, the club are planning a raid on their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Brazil midfielder Paulinho and defender Vlad Chiriches in a bid believed to be around £35 million.
The duo were among the eight players that former manager Andre Villas-Boas brought to White Hart Lane in the summer. However, after the recent sacking of the Portuguese manager, things at the North London club look rather uncertain.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be desperate to sort out the many problems he has been facing this campaign in all areas of the field. The ‘special one’ has identified box to box midfielder Paulinho to replace the likes of John Obi Mikel, Michael Essien and Frank Lampard who have been erratic this season.
Defensively, the Blues have had their worst season yet, keeping only 4 clean sheets in the Premier League. As John Terry nears the end of his career, and David Luiz yet to impress the gaffer, Vlad Chiriches is touted to be the answer to their woes.
However, Tottenham Hotspur might not sell their stars, as they look to break into the top four this campaign.
