Rumour: Chelsea willing to let David Luiz leave in January
According to the DailyStar, Chelsea is willing to let defender David Luiz leave the club in January with Barcelona being the most favorite destination.
The Spanish giants have been in pursuit of Luiz throughout the summer but the deal failed to materialize due to the dispute over transfer fee. But the club is believed to be making a new revived bid in order to land the Brazilian in the winter.
Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino will be keen to make defensive additions to the team in January because of the injury problems which haunt Carlos Puyol and Gerard Pique, and Luiz is on top of the wish list. He only managed five appearances for Chelsea so far this season which is a very low number compared to last season, when he used to be a regular under Rafa Benitez.
