Rumour: Everton close to pre-contract agreement with Aiden McGeady
Everton manager Roberto Martinez stated that the club are close in signing Aiden McGeady on a pre-contract.
Martinez said : “We are very close to a deal with Aiden for the summer, that is true. You know I like him as a player,” “But as things stand now I don’t think we will be able to do anything for January because there are too many difficulties.”
“Many things can happen in the window, but right now it would be difficult.”
McGeady had said previously that he will not be signing a new contract at Spartak Moscow, “It is in my mind to get back somewhere closer to home. I have told the club that and they are fine with it.”
Spartak dished out 12.5 million pounds for the winger, so they will not want to lose him for free in the summer.
