Rumour: Galatasaray and AS Monaco battle it out for Arsenal full back Bacary Sagna

Bacary Sagna of Arsenal

According to the Daily Mail, Turkish giants Galatasaray and French money bags AS Monaco are set to go head to head for Arsenal full back Bacary Sagna in the summer.

The Frenchman’s contract at the Emirates runs out at the end of the season, and several attempts by the club to tie him down to an extension have proved to be in vain so far.

The Gunners have offered him two deals, one of 12 months, and the other for two years, at his current wages of £60,000-per-week.

However, the 31-year old is looking for more future security with a four year deal at least, which Arsene Wenger is reluctant to give, considering the player’s age.

With the two contesting clubs ready to comply with the player’s demands, they look likely destinations for Sagna if he decides to leave North London.
