Rumour: Has Luis Suarez signed an undercover deal to join Manchester City?

Reports in Spanish newspaper Marca suggest that Luis Suarez has agreed a deal to sign for Manchester City in the summer.

The reports claim that Liverpool’s superstar striker, who has been in incredible form this season, met with City’s sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, and agreed a deal to leave Liverpool in the summer and move down the East Lancs to Manchester.

The Uruguayan pushed for a move away last summer but the club stood tall and refused to let him go. It was an inspired decision as Suarez has gone on to score 25 goals in the Premier League to lead the scoring charts in England and Europe while also agreeing a new long-term contract halfway through the season.

The reports in Spain also claim that due to Suarez’s arrival, one of City’s own superstar strikers, Sergio Aguero or Alvaro Negredo, will leave in the summer. He has been linked with a return to Spain for quite some time with Real Madrid and Barcelona, apparently, both keen on the forward.

Aguero has been in fine form this season. He has scored 16 goals in the Premier League and was rivalling Suarez for the top scorers’ spot until he picked up a calf injury in vs Arsenal in 2013 and has struggled with a niggling hamstring injury since.
