Rumour: Inter Milan pursuing Chelsea record signing Fernando Torres

Chelsea`s Fernando Torres

Italian giants Inter Milan are looking into a possible move for Chelsea flop Fernando Torres in the summer.

Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio attended the UEFA Champions League clash between Chelsea and Galatasaray last night, which has further fueled speculation of their interest in the forward.

The Spanish record signing came on in the second half to replace Samuel Eto’o, and missed a golden one on one chance to put his side 3 goals to the good.

Although the 28-year old’s wages might prove to be a major hindrance in the deal, new Inter Indonesian owner Erick Thohir has placed the player at the top of his summer shopping list.

Inter are currently struggling in 5th place in the Serie A, 28 points behind league leaders Juventus. Manager Walter Mazzarri has stressed on the need for more attacking options to get back into contention next season.
