Rumour: Javier Hernandez top target for Tottenham

Tottenham’s no.1 priority this January is to lure Chicarito

Hernandez has been targetted by Tottenham for sometime now and with their current big money striker Roberto Soldado failing to score regularly, they have made Chicharito their top priority.

According to caughtoffside, Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is frustrated with his strikers not scoring on a regular basis and wants to buy a new forward in January. Spurs believe that they can entice Chicharito to make the move as he is not getting regular playing time at Manchester United.

Chicharito has been regularly scoring for the Old Trafford outfit but has failed to clinch a regular first team spot due to the form of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie. In addition to that, manager David Moyes seems to prefer Danny Welbeck in the absence of the two strikers which has effectively made Hernandez only the fourth choice striker in the team.

The prospect of regular first team football is sure to be of interest to the Mexican striker who will be looking to gain more minutes on the pitch in preparation for the upcoming World cup.

Tottenham are also looking to offload Emmanuel Adebayor whose wage is costing the team significantly.
