Rumour: Jose Mourinho hints at summer move for Mario Balotelli

Jose Mourinho has hinted that a summer move for Mario Balotelli could be in the offing, after refusing to rule out making a bid for the controversial striker, according to the Metro.

Balotelli has endured a frustrating season at AC Milan with the club struggling to even qualify for Europe currently, with Clarence Seedorf since drafted in to take over from Massimo Allegri.

Balotelli is believed to want to play for a top club and Mourinho has been strongly linked with forming a reunion with his former charge, with the Portuguese tactician refusing to dampen speculation that the Italian striker could move to Chelsea in the summer.

Mourinho told reporters, “In football, you never know the future.

“Balotelli is with a big club at the moment, but you never know the future.

“They want to keep the best players and the best Italian players. But Mario has already been in English football before.

“I’m not going to be manager of Milan or the Italian national team, but he’s a good kid.”

Mourinho has identified a world class striker as his number one priority and the club are prepared to spend big in order to land one, with Balotelli reportedly having a £40million price tag slapped on his forehead.
