Rumour: Louis Van Gaal to replace Tim Sherwood at Tottenham Hotspur next season

Coach Louis van Gaal of Holland

According to several reports, Tottenham Hotspur will appoint Dutchman Van Gaal next season, at the expense of the Tim Sherwood, if he fails to guide the club into next year’s UEFA Champions League.

Although the current Spurs manager is doing an impressive job at White Hart Lane, club chairman, Daniel Levy, has his heart set on a big managerial summer appointment.

Reports suggest, Netherlands national coach Van Gaal was the front runner for the hot seat initially, however, the 62-year old refused the job due to prior commitments. The former Bayern Munich boss is sure to quit his current job after the World Cup, and is now looking for a new assignment at a big club.

“Look at my CV. I have won a trophy every season during my club career,” Van Gaal said.

“I am a winner and craving a trophy. This is why I am sick of being a national coach. I only see the players eight times a year. I am not enjoying the job of national coach at all.”

“After the World Cup I want to coach a big club again and win trophies. Otherwise I will retire.”

Chairman Daniel Levy is looking to cash in and bring the legendary manager to North London.
