Manchester City to face competition from European giants for €60m-rated Bundesliga star - Reports
Manchester City reportedly face competition from PSG and Bayern Munich for RB Leipzig striker Dani Olmo, who's valued at €60 million. The 26-year-old is coming off a decent season with Leipzig.
In 25 games across competitions, he contributed eight goals and five assists. Most of those goal contributions - four goals and five assists in 21 games - in the Bundesliga, where Marco Rose's side finished fourth, a point ahead of fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund.
Although he's contracted with Leipzig in 2027, Olmo has been the subject of interest of multiple European bigwigs. As per Sports Zone (via GOAL), Leipzig have received 'contact' from the three aforementioned teams for Olmo, who has a reported release clause of €60 million, but appear unlikely to 'negotiate' with any prospective suitor.
Any decision on the forward's future is only likely to be made after the upcoming European Championship in Germany, where Olmo will be in action for Luis de la Fuente's Spain.
La Roja - three-time European champions - open their campaign against Croatia on Saturday (June 15) in Berlin. Defending champions Italy and Albania are the other teams in the group, dubbed the group of death in this year's Euros.
The former Barcelona man has eight goals and seven assists in 33 games for his national side since a goalscoring debut in a 7-0 home win over Malta in a Euro 2020 qualifier in November 2019.
How many Manchester City players will be in action at Euro 2024?
Manchester City will have 14 players at Euro 2024, the most by a Premier League club. The defending four-time English champions will have representation in seven different national teams.
Portugal will have four City players - Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo. England are next with three - John Stones, Kyle Walker and Phil Foden - followed by two each from Belgium (Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku) and Croatia (Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic).
The three other City players set to be in action at Euro 2024 are Nathan Ake of the Netherlands, Rodri of Spain and Manuel Akanji of Switzerland. Among the aforementioned nations, England and Portugal are two of the pre-tournament favourites.
