Rumour: Manchester United chasing PSG striker Edinson Cavani
Manchester United are ready to bring in PSG striker Edinson Cavani when the summer transfer window opens.
Despite of their managerial vacancy and uncertainty over who will replace David Moyes, United have decided to go ahead and achieve their transfer targets for the next season.
It is believed that Cavani is in their priority list as United representatives reportedly visited Paris last week to discuss negotiation matters with him.
The Uruguayan arrived in France from Napoli in a £40m deal last summer but has not been comfortable since then.
He has been unhappy with his wide role under PSG manager Laurent Blanc’s system mainly due to the presence of Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
With Van Persie having a rough season and rumours about Chelsea’s interest in him, Cavani might consider making his move to the Old Trafford since he can easily settle into the central role of a striker.
Earlier, Cavani hesitated to join United because of their recent results as close sources suggested. But after David Moyes’ dismissal, the club is confident that the decision will convince the striker to change his mind.
