Manchester United inform 26-year-old La Liga forward’s agent that they will launch transfer move soon: Reports

Manchester United have reached out to the representatives of Girona star Viktor Tsygankov ahead of making a transfer offer for the Ukraine international. The Red Devils are beginning to attack the transfer market after a few slow weeks as they look to strengthen their squad.

Girona turned heads in La Liga after finishing third, behind Real Madrid and Barcelona, and will play in the UEFA Champions League for the first time. The club had no big names, but the efforts of the likes of Tsygankov and Manchester City-bound Savio propelled the team.

Manchester United are looking to strengthen the right side of their attack after another underwhelming season from Brazilian forward Antony. Diario AS reports that Tsygankov is the club's choice to strengthen the position, and contacts have begun for the move.

Tsygankov, 26, has a release clause of €30 million, making him a very achievable target for Europe's top sides. With interest from Arsenal and Aston Villa to go with that of Manchester United, Girona are keen to extend his contract and increase his release clause.

Tsygankov featured 30 times in La Liga in 2023-24, recording eight goals and seven assists. The 26-year-old was also in Ukraine's squad to Euro 2024, featuring once as they crashed out in the group stage, finishing fourth despite garnering four points.

The Red Devils will need to offer a substantial financial package to sign the forward, as they will only play in the UEFA Europa League in the 2024-25 season. Tsygankov has interest from sides in the UEFA Champions League and may choose to sign for a team in the competition.

Manchester United sanction sale of Willy Kambwala

Manchester United have reached an agreement with La Liga outfit Villarreal for the transfer of academy graduate Willy Kambwala this summer. The Spanish side will pay €10 million for the 19-year-old, who had one year left on his contract at Old Trafford.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Kambwala will head to Spain for a medical before signing a contract with the Yellow Submarines till 2029. The Red Devils will retain a sell-on clause and a buy-back clause in the deal for the young French defender.

Kambwala made his professional debut for the Red Devils in December 2023 after an injury crisis at the back.

The youngster featured ten times for Erik ten Hag's side as they finished eighth in the Premier League. He turned down a contract offer from the Red Devils before he was eventually sold to Villarreal.
