Manchester United makes Jadon Sancho decision after 24-year-old star held talks with club manager Erik ten Hag - Reports

Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho is reportedly close to ending his first-team exile following 'positive' talks with manager Erik ten Hag. The 24-year-old hasn't played since the 3-2 Premier League home defeat to Nottingham Forest in August last year.

Ten Hag explained Sancho's absence from the 3-1 Premier League defeat at Arsenal due to the player's poor attitute in training. But Sancho publicly refuted that, claiming that he was being made a scapegoat, which didn't enthuse Ten Hag and the club hierarchy.

With an apology not forthcoming, Sancho was exiled from the first-team environment and loaned out to his former club Borussia Dortmund in January. He was now returned from BvB, and as per Chris Weller, but could be back in the United first team.

The player has reportedly trained at the club for the first time since his fall-out with the boss, with the duo having had 'positive' talks. However, Sancho is unavailable to play Rosenborg in a pre-season friendly on Monday.

The Euro 2020 runner-up had a productive second half of last season, bagging three goals and as many assists in 21 games across competitions. All but one of those goal contributions came in 14 games in the Bundesliga.

Sancho also scored once in seven knockout games as BvB lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at the Wembley in London.

Jadon Sancho arrived at Manchester United in the summer of 2017 after a productive stint at Borussia Dortmund. However, the 24-year-old is far from replicating his BvB numbers.

In 82 games across competitions, the Englishman has contributed only 12 goals and six assists. That includes nine goals and six assists in 55 games in the Premier League.

In 17 continental games - 10 in the UEFA Europa League and seven in the UEFA Champions League - Sancho has scored once apiece in each competition. Sancho's only other goal for Manchester United came in his lone outing in the FA Cup in the 2021-22 season.
