Rumour: Manchester United move for Toni Kroos doubtful
Manchester United are finally ready to accept that Toni Kroos might not join in the summer, with it being thought that he would prefer to stay at Bayern.
Signing a midfielder is a crucial part of Moyes’ summer transfer plans, and not being able to sign Kroos will be a big blow to his plans of overhauling the squad.
Although nothing has been officially said about Kroos’ status, United believe it will be difficult to get him to sign, considering the competition out there. Coupled with the fact that Manchester United will not mostly take part in European Football next season, it will really be surprising to see Kroos leave a starring role in Europe’s best team for a team in transition under a manager relatively inexperienced on the European stage.
Kroos played a crucial role in their Quarter final win over Manchester United, orchestrating the midfield in both legs.
Volker Struth, the player’s agent, claimed earlier this week that Kroos will remain at Bayern. “We are confronted with a variety of rumours for months but at the moment I believe that Toni plays in Bavaria until 2015 at least,” he told the German newspaper Bild.
