Manchester United set price tag on Scott McTominay after rejecting £20 million bid from Fulham - Reports

Manchester United have reportedly set their asking price for midfielder Scott McTominay, a Fulham target. The Scotsman has been at Old Trafford since the 2016-17 season.

However. McTominay, 27, has seemingly become surplus to requirements, with a year left in his contract. He has made 252 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils, contributing 29 goals and eight assists.

Interestingly, he's coming off his most prolific season for the club, bagging 10 goals and three assists in 43 games across competitions, but he started only 27 times. Heading into the new season, there was a £20 million bid for the Cottagers, but United rejected it.

As per The Times, the Red Devils value McTominay at £30 million, a figure Fulham seem reluctant to match. Instead, the report says that the Cottagers are exploring alternative options, like Fluminense's Andre.

The Red Devils have been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille and Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee. They are also looking to boost their midfield, contemplating other options after their move for PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte has seemingly collapsed.

One of the options is signing Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat, but the Red Devils didn't exercise the option to keep him permanently after he had spent the last season on loan with them.

Manchester United have concluded their preparations for the 2024-25 season with a mixed pre-season. After a surprise 1-0 loss at Rosenborg, they beat Rangers 2-0 before commencing their US tour with a 2-1 loss to Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Erik ten Hag's side returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win over La Liga side Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego before closing their pre-season with a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at the William-Brice Stadium in South Carolina.

The Red Devils begin their new season with an FA Community Shield clash - the traditional curtain raiser of the English season - with Manchester City at the Wembley in London on August 10.

Ten Hag's side will commence their Premier League campaign at home to Fulham seven days later.
